Harry (Gene) Jones, 80, of Decatur passed away Friday, November 20, 2009
at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gene was born July 1, 1929, the son of Harry and Winifred Jones. He retired
from Jones Meat Market. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the
Korean War. He married Jean Sullivan on June 28, 1952.
Gene is survived by his wife, son Stephen (Jolene) Jones, grandchildren, Jeff
Myers of Los Angeles, CA, Josh Myers, Alissa (Stephen) Gruenewald and
great-granddaughter, Hannah Gruenewald of Decatur, brother Robert
(Rosemary) Jones of Decatur, and sister, Judy (Ivan) Hackney of Attica, IN,
brother-in-law, Gary Sullivan, sister-in-law, Jo Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Morgan and
daughter, Kris Myers.
Graveside service will be 11 am, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in Harristown
Cemetery,
with Military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard.
