Cecelia Marie Monaghan Donnelly, 86 of Decatur passed away on the morning
of September 12, 2009. Rosary Prayer service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday
(Sept. 18, 2009) at Holy Family Catholic Church. Funeral Mass of Resurrection
will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday also at the church with Fr. Joe Malloy Presider.
Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association or to Holy Family Parish. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care
is in charge of the arrangements.
Cecelia was born in December of 1922 in Bement, Illinois. She married Robert
H. Donnelly in June of 1941. She Co-Founded Bob Donnelly Automotive
Machine Shop with her husband in 1955 and was bookkeeper for many years.
She was a devoted St. Mary’s Auxiliary volunteer. She was a charter member of
Holy Family Parish.
Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in October of 2008, her
parents, and four sisters.
She is survived by daughters; Dianne Brandhorst & husband Allan of
Valparaiso, IN., Dale Ellen Unser & husband Del of Scottsdale, AZ., sons; Bob
Donnelly & wife Tonya of Zionsville, IN., Pat Donnelly & wife Debbie of Decatur,
nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Cecelia’s life was defined by her faith and her love and devotion to her family.
